Dr. Carlos Giron is a healthcare innovator, thought leader, and visionary executive who serves as an industry expert and speaker on pain management and medical cannabis. Recognized as a pioneer in Georgia by incorporating legal CBD/hemp oil into the treatment of his patients suffering from chronic, intractable pain, which has resulted in a significant reduction of opioid doses and the inherent risks for the patient population.

Dr. Giron is the son of Cuban immigrants who was born in New York City. At 14 years of age, his family moved to Miami, Florida, where he attended St. Brendan High School and graduated with honors from the University of Miami. He attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine and completed residency training in anesthesiology and pain management in 1996. Dr. Giron then moved to Macon, where he founded the Pain Institute of Georgia. He became a pioneer in opening the first Pain Management Ambulatory Surgery Center in Georgia. He started the Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and helped create the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.

Dr. Giron is the father of three sons and four dogs. He is an accomplished author, photographer, speaker, and avid fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes.
